Hi. I'm working my way through BTS's study guide for R06, and in a example question on salary sacrifice, it states that a drawback of SS is 'only able to claim DWP benefits based on the new lower salary' (This is for someone earning £110k, sacrificing a 10% bonus)

Can anyone explain to me what DWP benefits would be available to someone on this salary, that would be affected by a lower salary due to salary sacrifice?

Thanks

Understand how to calculate average acquisition cost to determine base cost of pooled shared at disposal.

However, I don’t understand the example of when shares were sold in 30 days 3.4 (Charlotte) in BTS book.

Why was the purchase of the newest shares not pooled detailing the acquisition cost? I think it’s because the transactions within 30 days were sale first, repurchase second. So, whilst the newest shares were considered to be the ones being disposed of first (even though in reality they were purchased after the sale), we had to use average acquisition cost of previously ascertained shares as the new ones technically had not been purchased. Is this correct?

If that is the case, does it work differently if the transactions within 30 days are purchase first and sale second?

Lastly, if bought and sold on the same day or sold then bought, is it that the transaction was deemed as not having happened at all?

Just wondering how anyone who sat r06 yesterday felt the exam went?

It felt to me like there were a large amount of 'explain' questions... I managed to finish the exam with 1 minute to spare on the timer, probably rushed the last couple of questions as a result. Bit 50/50 on what the result will be!

Hope it went well for everyone and good luck to you all come 30th May results day.
