Reputation, Vision and the People where key to me joining. Quilter is an industry recognised multi award-winning company, they work across the various different distribution models in the UK, which means the understand the needs of the market.
Vision, they know what they want to achieve, they are customer centric and genuinely care about their clients, the services they offer and their adviser community.
People, joining a new company can be daunting, but everyone I met throughout the recruitment process and since joining have been not only welcoming, but genuinely supportive, collaborative and its really is a nice environment to work in.
I mentioned people above, and this follows through to the Academy. Everyone that wants to join the Academy will have a different need, they will encounter problems from time to time and it’s the people that support our students that are a key differentiator.
From the first meeting, all the way through to achieving Competent Adviser Status, the team are on hand to provide support and guidance, we care!
Off course there are differences in our proposition verse other’s in the market, our funding options tend to be more generous, we provide access to our 40+ Affinity Partner’s with a minimum of 100 booked client enquiries provided to each new adviser in their first year, we have a dedicated team of managers and mentors to work with new advisers, ensuring they get the support needed.
We offer a range of options based on the candidate’s needs, we offer a full-time programme, a Part-time Programme and a Bridge Programme (if they already hold qualifications). During the selection process we will discuss the best route depending on the needs of the individual.
There are no requirements to have any financial qualifications, that’s the training the Academy provides, so anyone can consider a career in financial services.

Going self-employed can be daunting, but with Quilters support our new advisers can focus on seeing clients and building their business, Quilter provides extensive services and support to help each individual thrive.
In the early stages of their self-employed career, post training they will still have access to funding and the 100 client enquiries mentioned above, so they have a solid platform on which to build. Linked to this to their ongoing development, management and access to experienced Mentors that will help guide them.
If there was a one size fits all that would be great, but there isn’t. Transferrable skills can help for example if the have been in a client facing role, run their own business, had an association with financial services but its more about their own character, desire, motivation, determination, resilience and a keen interest in helping others.
Becoming a financial adviser is not easy but can be rewarding. Ultimately it will be the individuals hard-work and determination that will drive success, as such we are open to speaking to people from all walks of life and background, provided they are open to learning, developing new skills and believe a career in financial services is what they want to do going forward.
